Your checked luggage was lost or delayed? The Montreal Convention or the Warsaw Convention system may be applicable to your journey and these Conventions govern and may limit the liability of air carriers for loss of, or delay to baggage, 1,000 Special Drawing Rights (approximately EUR 1,300) per passenger in most cases.
If your luggage did not arrive at the airport you should immediately turn to the counter and get a confirmation, the so called PIR (Property Irregularity Report). Leave an address to where the luggage may be delivered. Furthermore you are entitled to compensation up to a certain amount in case of delayed or lost luggage. You have to report the lost luggage within 21 days to the airline. For further questions please contact your ECC.
