Are there exemptions relieve the air carrier of the obligation to pay compensation?

You won’t be entitled to compensation if your flight is delayed as a result of “extraordinary circumstances” or you were informed about the cancellation or delay at least two weeks before the scheduled time of departure.

How much compensation can I claim for a problem with my flight?

In the event of flight cancellation, long delay or denied boarding have the right to:

compensation totalling:

  • EUR 250 for all flights of 1500 kilometres or less;
  • EUR 400 for all intra-Community flights of more than 1500 kilometers, and for all other flights between 1500 and 3500 kilometres.
